OOTD#9 From Paris With Love

Hi, I’m back! I’ve been on hiatus from blogging and it took me a month and half to actually write again. I won’t delve on the details but all I can say is, I was all because of work. I missed my blog 😦 I missed writing. And most of all I missed new friends (fellow bloggers, readers, drifters) I met here on the net. But now I’m back, I’m so excited to write again!

On to my Outfit of the Day. My look is Parisian-inspired.

I am a huge lover of anything French. From the movies and books I’ve encountered, I do believe there is something romantic about Paris. I am at awe on how rich French culture is: food, places, films, music and fashion. France is on top of my “places-to-visit” list.

Wearing simple pieces helped channeling my inner Parisian chic. ❤

Where I wore this? On a night out with new friends. 🙂

These girls are so much fun to hang out with. We lived together for a month and I guess we clicked because of similar interests and personality. Plus, they are all nice!

Thanks to this sweet girl who shot most of my ootd pictures. Hi Jham! Mwaaah :*

That’s all and see you on my next post! Au revoir, mon ami!

Lipstick of the Day: Wet N Wild MegaLast in Purty Persimmon

Hi lipstick junkies!!!

Here’s another Wet N’ Wild MegaLast lipstick. I really can’t get enough of them. I plan to get more of these of different shades of nude, peach and plum. They’re seriously great and very pigmented. One thing i don’t like is these lipsticks make your lips dry. I use my Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm before applying the lipstick and it works great.

I’m wearing the shade Purty Persimmon. I already did an in-depth review of this on my previous post Wet N’ Wild MegaLast and MegaShield Lip Colors. Please check that out if you would like to know more about this lipstick.

Swatch on selfie:

What I like

  • durable packaging
  • has 26 shades to choose from
  • has a scent but quite faint
  • decent lasting power
  • super inexpensive
  • Purty Persimmon is a gorgeous shade of red with a tinge of orange
  • creamy and matte (don’t forget to exfoliate your lips or apply lip balm)
  • available anywhere or online

The bad

  • due to the creamy consistency, can be REALLY messy and easily transferable

Roro’s Thoughts:
Of course, I like it. Great shade but I only get to wear it a few times because I prefer the Wet N Wild MegaLast in 24 Carrot Gold. I would definitely love to try other colors.

A 5 /5 lips for me 😀

Have you tried the Wet N Wild MegaLast in Purty Persimmon or in any shade?
Love to hear your thoughts!

Hello fellow lipstick junkies!

Here’s another of a lipstick of the day post featuring: Wet N’ Wild MegaLast in 24 Carrot Gold.

I already let out my rave and rants about this particular lip product from my last post, Wet N’ Wild MegaLast and MegaShield Lip Colors, where you can find a more in-depth review on it plus other Wet N Wild lipsticks I currently own.

Please do check it out if you like 🙂

Lipstick of the Day: Revlon Super Lustrous™ Matte Lipstick in 011 Stormy Pink

Product Details:

Ultra-creamy saturated lip color that delivers beautiful, lightweight matte color without any dryness, caking or fading.

  • Straight from the Runway shades.
  • Beautifully rich matte color glides effortlessly across lips.
  • Suede-like, cushiony feel and with maximum color impact.
  • Beautifully rich shades from nude to deepest berry.

Made in the USA

The lipstick comes in a sleek, black tube with a clear ‘window’ on top of the cap where you can see its color as well the shade detail at the bottom of the tube. As for its durability, you can expect it wouldn’t break easily despite how many times you drop the lipstick.

1Mine has a little sticker on the side of the tube with detailed info about the lipstick (ingredients, weight, bar code, etc).

The Revlon lipstick contains 4.2 g and the shade that I have is 011 Stormy pink. The color is kind of a bright baby pink with slight purple undertone which I find it a very lovely shade. It is available in different pretty colors. I like the fact that it doesn’t have a pungent smell (only subtle) as some of the lip products I had.

I find the consistency of the Revlon lipstick quite smooth and it glides on the lips easily. But my problem with it is the product is not very pigmented and I have to reapply quite a few times because the color appears sheer on my lips when applied once or even twice. Also, since it’s a matte lipstick make sure you put on lip balm before you apply it otherwise your lips would appear dry and the creases on it would be visible.

This is how it looks like on my lips. I really like the color despite its sheer pigmentation and the need to apply repeatedly for the desired color.

6Excuse me for how I look, I’m having an amazing bad hair day today. 😀

When the product is smudge, it doesn’t come off that easily plus it would stay put on the lips, although the color would appear faint once smudged. The effect is also the same when you eat or drink. Regarding if it lasts for hours, it doesn’t stay too long and only for about 3 hours, which is already pretty decent for me.

The Revlon Super Lustrous Matte Lipstick costs  $7-8 but Drugstore.com sells it 20% off. If you’re also a budget diva like me, you should look online for cheaper deals. If you’re in the Philippines, this can also be bought in any malls or SM Department Stores and Watsons. I got mine from my mom as well as my other high-end lipsticks like the Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick.

The good

  • durable packaging
  • has great shades to choose from
  • doesn’t have foul chemical smell
  • smooth and matte
  • doesn’t smudge easily
  • decent lasting power
  • cheaper when bought online

The bad

  • can be drying on lips
  • to be applied many times to get the right color
  • expensive to me

Roro’s thoughts

This is my first Revlon lipstick and I kind of like it but just not my favorite one. The shade is gorgeous despite the need to apply a few times to get the color I wanted. And I also have to remember to condition my lips before applying the it. I would love to try the nude shades and the berry ones next time.

I give it three and a half lips just cause I love the color!

What are your thoughts on it?

Thanks for reading!

Have a fun bad hair day! 🙂 😀 😉

Lipstick of the Day: Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick in Guest List 012 & new Blog segment

Heyah gorgeous!

I wanna introduce to you something new to on my blog which is the “Lipstick of the day”. On this new segment, you will see the lip products I’ll be using of the day, testing it out and make a mini review about it. Though probably not everyday cause I prefer wearing lip balms to keep my lips hydrated and healthy.

I do like lipsticks because of the wide array of colors its available. And I like playing around with the colors, matching it with my outfit like I’ll go all black with my clothes and add red lips to it. Whenever I go to the mall and see a gorgeous lip color, my hands starts to itch prompting me to buy it even though I didn’t have intention to purchase one thus sacrificing the money for food to a pretty tube of lipstick. Worth it! (and sometimes, probably not)

I’m quite particular when choosing the right color of lipstick; sometimes, I would spend 10 minutes (or more) just to decide what color I really like and whether do I really need it or not. I just get annoyed when the saleslady starts staring and hovering at my back as if I have every intention of shoplifting. DoH! (I have personal space issues, peace 😎 )

Moving on the main topic, the lip product I want tp share today is my Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick. I got this from my mom because she didn’t like the color which I also thought of at first. But thanks to my momma, I got my first high-end make up product. Tee-hee 😀

My first impression on this was, well, I really didn’t have any since this was my first Rimmel lipstick and I’m not sure if we have stores selling it here in the Philippines other than online. I think this is sold for about $6-$7/ P200-300. It has 18 available shades and I think its not related to the Kate Moss line (which shades I love to try one or all!). The label said ‘Lasting Finish Lipstick’ so I was curious to test it out.

I got the shade 012 Guest List which gives off a soft red color with a slight pink undertone.

I really didn’t like the shade at first especially when I applied it on my lips. It looked barely there to me (or are my lips just naturally pink?) kind of like a lip gloss more than a lipstick. But then when I reapplied it, to get the color I desired, it looked great and actually well pigmented, not an intense color but it does soften up your whole look. It has light shimmer on it which is perfect for me. It is also very creamy and it doesn’t make my lips dry but I’m not sure about the long-lasting claim though. I have to reapply after 3 hours or when I eat or drink.
