LOTD: Subtle Smokey

Hello darlings!

Recently, I have been experimenting on eye shadows: how to apply, blend and match different colors. So far, I’m still bad at it. LOL. But I’m extremely having fun practicing various techniques, playing around with colors and what I mostly could do is a soft smokey eyes.

I used L’Oreal Paris Color Infallible Eye Shadow in the shade Forever Pink  as a base all over my eye lids. I love this L’Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow because it is very pigmented and gives a satiny finish when applied on the lids. Plus it lasts all for hours which is great for me since I have an oily/combination skin and would cause my eye shadow to crease. Then for the smokey effect, I simply blended a matte warm brown eye shadow at the outer corner of my eyes to the crease creating a V-shape.

LOTD: Bronze Eye it out!

source: hawtcelebs.com

Hey ladies!

I saw a gorgeous image of Emily Blunt’s makeup look during the 2012 Gotham Awards. She was sporting a bronze eye makeup, a subtle color on the cheeks and nude lips. She looks like a goddess with that golden hair, classy modern dress and simple accessories. Isn’t she lovely? I simply love her!

I attempted to create my own version of the eye makeup inspired by Emily Blunt’s.

Snapshot of my eye makeup look, nothing too complicated cause I’m still learning how to do my own makeup 😀

First, I applied primer onto my lids. Then after applying primer, I took a bronze eye pencil, spreading it gently all over my lids. I like this eye pencil because it’s creamy and doesn’t fade for a long time. Using an ivory colored eyeshadow, I dabbed it on the center of my lids also at the inner corner of my eyes, near my bottom water line and the brow bone for a brightening effect. Then I lined my eyes and added two coats of mascara. For the face, I just put on my usual everyday makeup products and swapped blush for contour. Finally, instead of Emily’s pretty nude lips, I opted a fancy red lippie.

Well, the finished look is nowhere near what Emily Blunt was wearing. I still have a lot of makeup learning to do! But then again, this was a ‘makeup inspired’ anyway. Plus, I had fun with playing around with makeup!!!

Practice, practice, practice!

LOTD: Jason Wu Spring ’13 RTW Makeup Inspired Look

I was watching FashionTV the other day and saw Jason Wu S/S 2013 RTW runway show. He’s one of my favorite fashion designer and popular for creating fabulous dresses. His clothes have been worn by A-List celebrities like Blake Lively, Reese Witherspoon, Chloe Moretz, Emma Stone and (don’t forget the America’s darling first Lady) Michelle Obama. I’m a fan of his creations especially his RTWs (ready-to-wear) which are stylish and feminine.

But this time, what I really liked or caught my eye was the makeup look by MAC.
